Hexagon Cup drops conventional sets for 2027 World Series
By Courtsider · October 23, 2026
Games and conventional sets are giving way to super tie-breaks as Hexagon Cup expands into the Hexagon World Series in 2027. The FIP-governed team circuit will span four events, with Madrid opening the season and Abu Dhabi hosting its conclusion.
How the scoring will work
Matches will be decided over a maximum of five super tie-breaks. The first four will be played to ten points; a fifth, when needed, will have a six-point target. The announced format also includes a decisive Star Point at 10-10.
Eight teams will be split between two groups of four at each stop. Each team encounter comprises a men's match and a women's match, with equal weight. A subsequent placement round will determine the event's final standings.
From Madrid to Abu Dhabi
The GENERALI Hexagon Cup Madrid opens the series at Caja Mágica on 21–24 January 2027. North America follows in March, then Scandinavia in June. The host cities for those two events remain to be announced. Abu Dhabi closes the calendar on 21–24 October.
Madrid's opening dates had already been confirmed in August, when organisers moved the international series launch to January 2027 and reshaped their earlier plans for 2026. The Madrid event will occupy four competition days, down from five.
A title decided across the season
Results from all four tournaments will count towards the overall team championship. Event winners receive 25 points, followed by 18 for second, 15 for third, then 12, nine, six, three and zero for fourth through eighth.
Seven teams have been named: AD/vantage Padel Team, KRÜ Padel by Taktika, ElevenEleven Team USA, Rafa Nadal Academy Team, Team Bella Puerto Rico, X Padel and Abu Dhabi's new Dalma Team. The eighth franchise and individual player line-ups are still to be revealed.
The series grows from the partnership between Hexagon, sports agency 54 and FIP announced in December 2025. It complements Premier Padel's competition for individual pairs with a separate team circuit.
